What it does
The Jamaica Intellectual Property Office administers the country's intellectual property system, covering trademarks, patents, industrial designs, copyright, geographical indications and traditional knowledge. Its online platform, e-JIPO at online.jipo.gov.jm, is the transactional side of the agency, used for filing and managing IP applications and for searching the register.
JIPO operates a searchable trademark register, with detailed searches charged at an hourly rate published on the agency site. Local applicants can also reach the WIPO Madrid Application Assistant through JIPO for international trademark filings under the Madrid Protocol.
