Bank of Jamaica
Jamaica's central bank site with FX rates, statistics tools and policy publications
What it does
The Bank of Jamaica website is the central bank's public data and publication channel. It publishes daily foreign exchange spot rates by currency pair with historical series and dealer volumes, money market data, interest rates, consumer price index and inflation figures, external sector data including balance of payments and remittances, and performance metrics for commercial banks, building societies and credit unions.
Beyond static reports, the site provides a data query portal for retrieving historical financial series and participates in the IMF enhanced General Data Dissemination System with an advance release calendar. Policy decisions, treasury bill and certificate of deposit notices, annual reports, financial stability reports and research papers are published on an ongoing schedule.
The Bank also uses the site to explain its inflation targeting framework, its regulation of deposit-taking institutions, and JAM-DEX, the central bank digital currency. Access to all published data is free.
