Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority

The Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority is the statutory body under the Ministry of Energy, Transport and Telecommunications that regulates civil aviation in Jamaica, covering flight safety oversight, economic regulation of air transport, and air navigation services including traffic management and aeronautical information.

Its site handles licensing and registry work. The aircraft registry documents Jamaican civil aircraft and a personnel licensing database covers aviation professionals, while applications are processed for personal licences, air service licences, permits and clearances for flight operations, and Air Operator Certificates. Online systems include an AIP portal for aeronautical information customers, a student portal for training, an invoice submission system and a works notification platform.

The Authority publishes NOTAMs and SNOTAMs, flight safety directives, advisory circulars, annual reports and media releases, and runs an online library of aviation regulations and guidelines. Its training arm, the Civil Aviation Authority Training Institute, dates from the 1970s and offers Trainair Plus certified courses. Licensing and training carry fees.
