General Legal Council of Jamaica
Searchable registers of practising, suspended and disbarred attorneys in Jamaica
What it does
The General Legal Council is the statutory body that regulates attorneys-at-law in Jamaica. Its website carries public registers that can be searched and sorted in the browser, including the list of attorneys holding practising certificates for the current year, a list covering accounting compliance, and separate lists of suspended and disbarred attorneys.
The practising attorneys table is filterable by typing part of a name or any other field, and sortable by clicking a column heading. Each row shows title, first name, last name, attorney number and date of admission in Jamaica. The page records when the register was last updated, and at time of research it showed an update dated 10 September 2026.
For members of the public the registers answer whether a named person is entitled to practise law in Jamaica, and for the profession they serve as the authoritative record of standing and disciplinary status.
