What it does
Caribbean Tech Connect, at caribbean.dev, is a community site for Caribbean developers run out of Jamaica. It pulls together the parts of a local tech scene that usually sit on separate platforms: an events calendar, a learning catalogue, a job board and a discussion forum.
The events section aggregates meetups from the Jamaican Developers group, a game development society and the AWS Jamaica user group, so it functions as a single view of what is happening locally rather than another competing meetup group. The learning side lists several hundred courses across web design, CSS, JavaScript and UI and UX topics, and there is a blog plus video tutorials published to YouTube.
The site is operated by Osoobe and maintains a public GitHub organisation under the name Caribbean Tech Connect. Access to the community, events and job listings is free.
