Truss
Shared credit ledger for Jamaican merchants and the customers they extend credit to
By Truss
What it does
Truss is a shared credit record for Jamaican merchants who sell on trust. A merchant records the amount, purpose, due date and repayment schedule of an agreement, the customer reviews it and gives an explicit approval, and from then on both sides see the same record of payments, balances and what happens next. A daily view called Today's Book summarises activity, with separate queues for overdue and needs attention items.
The product also offers Truss Checks, a lookup of a customer's verified repayment history that a merchant can run before extending credit. Customers who have been checked can be added to a watchlist, and the merchant is notified when a status changes without being shown a score, prompting a fresh check for detail. A dispute process is part of the agreement history.
