What it does
TREND stands for Transforming Education for National Development, the Ministry of Education's programme to implement the 365 recommendations of the 2021 Jamaica Education Transformation Commission report. The programme runs to 2030 and is organised around seven pillars covering governance, early childhood education, teaching and curriculum and teacher training, the tertiary sector, technical and vocational education, infrastructure and technology, and finance.
The site carries a media and information centre, a frequently asked questions section, and details of the independent Education Transformation Oversight Committee that monitors the reform. Two working services sit alongside the informational pages: a volunteer sign up portal at volunteer.trend-ja.com and a jobs portal at jobs.moey.gov.jm for teaching and ministry vacancies.
