What it does
NCB mPOS is National Commercial Bank Jamaica's mobile card acceptance platform for merchants. A phone or tablet paired with an encrypted card reader becomes the terminal, and the listings state the platform is EMV certified and accepts NCB Keycard, Visa, Mastercard and Multilink debit cards. Customers are sent an electronic receipt by email or text rather than a printed slip.
Transactions report in real time, and merchants sign in to a separate web dashboard to review the sales processed through the app. Signup runs through NCB rather than the app stores, and the listing notes that location and other device permissions must be granted for the app to work.
The iOS build dates from March 2019 and the Android build is published under the same bank developer account. NCB's newer tap on phone product, NCB ePOS, is catalogued separately.
