NCB ePOS

NCB ePOS is National Commercial Bank Jamaica's tap on phone product, letting a merchant accept contactless payments using an Android phone or tablet with no separate card reader. Contactless cards, phones and wearables are read by the device itself, and the listing states transactions are encrypted in transit.

The bank presents the app as a cheaper route into card acceptance than a traditional terminal, since there is no terminal hardware to buy, and points to reduced paper receipts and plastic as a secondary effect. It is offered to both small businesses and larger retailers through NCB merchant services.

NCB's reader based merchant app, NCB mPOS, is published separately and is catalogued as its own entry. Settlement and merchant onboarding run through the bank's merchant services rather than the app.
