What it does

The National Council on Drug Abuse was mandated in 1983 and given statutory powers under a 1991 enactment bill to plan drug abuse prevention, abatement and rehabilitation in Jamaica. Its site lists the services it delivers, including a national speaker's bureau for public awareness sessions and resistance skill building prevention programmes for children, youth, communities and families.

The site carries a searchable library catalogue, a Support section with a treatment area, FAQ and glossary, and an Interactives section containing self assessment tests alongside videos. Quit guidance is broken out by substance for cigarettes, ganja and alcohol, and a Good Ganja Sense campaign section sits alongside publications including fact sheets and national survey reports. Careers vacancies are also published.
