Loop News Jamaica

Loop News Jamaica was the Jamaican edition of Loop News, a regional Caribbean breaking-news app ("Loop - Caribbean Local News") covering Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, Haiti, Cayman Islands, St. Lucia and other territories from one app. Users could pick a home country/parish for localized push notifications, bookmark stories and build a personalized "MyFeed."

Loop News announced the end of its operations in June 2025 after 11 years of service, so the app and Jamaica-specific coverage are no longer actively maintained; it is included here as a discontinued entry because Loop Jamaica was, for over a decade, one of the most widely used Jamaican news apps. Regional ownership means this was Jamaica-targeted rather than Jamaican-built. The Google Play listing (com.aggrego.loop) now returns a 404, consistent with the shutdown; the loopnews.com/news/jamaica page still loads but is currently serving an expired TLS certificate.
