What it does
The Jamaica Gleaner app delivers news, sport and opinion from Jamaica's oldest continuously published newspaper (founded 1834) to mobile devices. The Gleaner Company launched an Android news app in August 2013, followed by an iOS app; a separate "Jamaica Gleaner ePaper" app (via PressReader/newspaperdirect infrastructure) offers a digital replica of the print edition with offline reading.
The main Gleaner app (package com.rmp.mobile.gleanermobile) is live on both the App Store and Google Play; the ePaper app remains available on both platforms as an alternative route to Gleaner content. It is built by and for the Jamaican publisher itself, targeting both local and diaspora readers.
