What it does
BOSS is the electronic public offer portal of Barita Investments Limited, a licensed Jamaican securities dealer. Applicants use it to read the prospectus for an open offer of ordinary shares or bonds, complete the application, fund it electronically, and then follow the application and allocation status, with the submission passed through to the Jamaica Central Securities Depository.
Registration differs by customer type. Existing Barita clients can register through the Barita site, at a Barita office, or through a wealth advisor. Someone who deals through another broker can still apply, by supplying a broker number, a JCSD account number, a taxpayer registration number, government photo identification and a signed authorisation form.
Barita states the service is normally available around the clock with scheduled maintenance windows. There is no charge for using the portal itself.
