What it does
Skills On-Demand is a mobile app from Jamaica's HEART/NSTA Trust (the national human capital development agency), officially launched in November 2024. It connects HEART-certified, skilled tradespeople (including air-conditioning technicians, electricians, plumbers, masons, welders, cosmetologists, event planners, landscapers and early-childhood teachers) with customers islandwide who need short- to medium-term services.
Customers search for the service they need and connect directly with a certified graduate; tradespeople use the app to showcase their skills and find work. It is free to download on both the App Store and Google Play (the App Store listing is not published under the Jamaica storefront; it is reachable via other regional storefronts such as Canada). Some users have reported account-creation and sign-up issues since launch.
