What it does
The Hi-Lo Food Stores Jamaica app, backed by supermarket chain Hi-Lo (part of the GraceKennedy Group), lets shoppers browse the online store, save grocery lists for quick reorders, scan product barcodes to add items to the cart, and choose pickup or delivery at select locations. Hi-Lo first announced its move into e-commerce in 2017 with a formal launch of the online store and app the following year.
GraceKennedy has positioned Hi-Lo's e-commerce build-out as ahead of its main local rival, the Progressive Grocers consortium, which was not found to operate a structured online-ordering platform of its own.
