What it does

CarShop pulls used-car listings from across Jamaica's existing classifieds sites into one place so a buyer can search and compare across the whole market instead of opening five or six sites separately. Site-specific collectors gather listings on a schedule, normalize them into one shape, and deduplicate the same vehicle posted on more than one site by a vehicle fingerprint. The homepage is a single fast search filtered by make, model, year and price, with bottom-sheet filters on a phone.

Each vehicle page adds what the original listings usually lack: AI-enriched details, a chart of how price varies by year for that model, a loan calculator, and a clear link back to the original listing to make contact. CarShop deliberately does not insert itself between buyer and seller: there is no messaging layer or seller-posting flow, and it aggregates, enriches and compares, then links back to the source. As of the case study the catalogue held more than 37,000 aggregated vehicles.

CarShop runs on the same backend, database and passkey sign-in as its sibling Jamaica Real Estate, having migrated from an older Elixir/Phoenix and Next.js stack to React Router 7 and Drizzle. It aggregates and compares listings from other sites rather than hosting individual sellers' own posts.
